RFI for the OGC Health SDI Concept Development Study will support the development of a Health Emergencies Data Model and the design of a Health Spatial Data Infrastructure.The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) seeks, in support of the OGC Health SDI Concept Development Study (CDS), to gather information concerning capturing, mapping, analyzing, modeling, and sharing spatial data to deal with major health emergencies.The Health SDI CDS will support the development of a Health Emergencies Data Model and the design of a Health Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI).The OGC Health SDI Request For Information (RFI) addresses four major health data categories:Data relating to critical supply chains; Data concerning populations tested, infected, and treated; Data describing the healthcare delivery infrastructure, including hospitals, hospital resources, and hospital staff; and Data comprising useful spatial framework layers for health specific data.For more information, visit the OGC Health SDI CDS webpage.

New OGC Working Group will develop a JSON encoding for geospatial feature data to support additional concepts that are important for the wider geospatial community and the OGC API standards.The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) seeks public comment on the draft charter for the new OGC Features and Geometries JSON Standards Working Group (SWG).The OGC Features and Geometries JSON SWG is chartered to develop a JSON encoding for geospatial feature data.Given the popularity of GeoJSON, the SWG will ensure that OGC Features and Geometries JSON will be specified as a superset of GeoJSON so that valid GeoJSON is also valid OGC Features and Geometries JSON.The draft charter for the Features and Geometries JSON Standards Working Group is available for review and comment on the OGC Portal.

OGC seeks Public Comment on revised Abstract Specification: Observations and Measurements

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) seeks public comment on a revision to the joint ISO and OGC Standard, Observations and Measurements (O&M).The O&M Standard defines a conceptual schema for observations, including for features involved in the observation process, and for features involved in sampling when making observations.O&M now forms the foundation for a number of other OGC Standards, such as TimeseriesML and GroundwaterML.The candidate ‘Abstract Specification: Geographic information – Observations and Measurements’ standard is available for review and comment on the OGC Portal.Comments are due by the 18th of January, 2021, and should be submitted via the method outlined on the Observations & Measurements Standard’s public comment request page.
